With more than 98,000 square miles of wide-open terrain and roughly one person per every 111 acres, it’s no surprise Wyoming is considered one of the best wildlife viewing destinations. From Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Park to places like Seedskadee National Wildlife Refuge and Bighorn and Medicine Bow-Routt National Forest, Wyoming offers diverse habitats where wildlife can be observed. Wyoming’s residents include more than 100 mammal species and over 400 species of birds. Wyoming’s wild residents include bison, mountain lions, wolves, bald eagles, grizzly and black bears, elk, moose, deer, pronghorn antelope and wild horses.
Guided wildlife viewing tours are available year-round throughout Wyoming, offering expert insight into animal behavior while helping visitors experience wildlife responsibly. Because these animals are wild and we are guests in their home, following WY Responsibly guidelines is essential. Choosing a guided wildlife tour can provide a more meaningful and respectful connection to Wyoming’s natural habitats.
