Lovell

Lovell, Wyoming, is best known as the gateway to Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area.

Experience the canyon by going to Horseshoe Bend Marina to rent a canoe or take a boat tour, or book a kayak, canoe or stand-up paddleboard tour through other area outfitters. You can easily spend an entire day marveling at the towering, multicolored walls of the canyon from Bighorn Lake and surrounding trails. Continue west into the Bighorn National Forest for more unforgettable sights, like Porcupine Falls and Medicine Wheel National Historic Landmark. North of Lovell, stop at the Pryor Mountain Wild Horse Range for the chance to catch a glimpse of this area’s beautiful herd of wild horses. Back in town, you will find a host of restaurants, lodging and local shops, including the family-run Queen Bee Gardens, specializing in candies and all things honey. Known as The Rose Town of Wyoming, be sure to stop and smell the roses blooming in local parks and gardens if you visit in the spring or summer.
