As the first points of contact, Wyoming Office of Tourism’s welcome centers greet over 450,000 visitors annually to the Cowboy state. Certified Information Specialists assist visitors with their travel needs and vacation plans as they travel throughout the state.
The Wyoming Office of Tourism manages two welcome centers: the Southeast Wyoming Welcome Center just north of the Colorado border in Cheyenne and the Northeast Wyoming Welcome Center just west of the South Dakota border at Exit 199 between Beulah and Sundance. Both welcome centers are a quick exit off the highway and have restrooms, informative displays, friendly staff and plenty of guides, brochures and other resources from around the state.
Crazy Woman Canyon (Forest System Road 33), a popular recreation area in Bighorn National Forest, is closed for the summer due to a bridge replacement project. The project is expected to be complete by September 2025. For more information, visit www.fs.usda.gov/r02/bighorn/
Wyoming has dozens of rest areas and information centers located across the state. Take advantage of stopping, using restrooms and learning more about Wyoming in these designated areas. Some even offer RV dump stations if you are in need.
