Lusk
Located in the rolling hills of the eastern plains, Lusk, Wyoming, is where the West begins.
This small town offers the perfect getaway if you are looking for history, adventure or a relaxing retreat. Go to the Stagecoach Museum to see old relics, from buggies and bathtubs to a stagecoach and old schoolhouse. Learn about the area’s significant landmarks through a quilt trail boasting 100 painted wood and metal quilt squares along businesses, barns, fences and other spots around town. While you’re out, peruse stores such as Hometown Country or Lickety Stitch Quilts before pausing for a meal at The Pizza Place or another local restaurant. Open a book or let the kids play at one of five city parks, then head to BJ’s Campground, Town House Motel or one of several other lodging options to call it a night. Be sure to look up once the sun goes down; Lusk’s dark, open skies are ideal for stargazing, with telescopes available to guests of Prairie View Campground and Best Western Pioneer.
