Trailborn Jackson Hole

Trailborn Jackson Hole debuts as a year-round mountain basecamp at the foot of Snow King Mountain. The reimagined resort features ski-in/ski-out access, an expansive spa, pool and hot tub, duckpin bowling and an onsite restaurant and bar. Further southeast in the Snowy Range, Trailshead Lodge enters its first summer under its new name and ownership. The veteran-owned and operated lodge sits at the foot of the mountains in Medicine Bow National Forest. Guests can book cabins, enjoy onsite dining and rent UTVs, or snowmobiles come winter.

Getting to Wyoming is easier than ever, with new direct flight offerings to and from two of the nation's largest communities. Jackson Hole Airport welcomes new seasonal nonstop American Airline flights daily from New York's JFK, and Cody Yellowstone Regional Airport resumes daily United service connecting Chicago O'Hare to Yellowstone National Park's East Entrance.

Morning Star American Indian Village returns to Cheyenne Frontier Days this July with a fully revamped facility that is bigger and better than before. The new space will offer visitors an immersive look at Plains Indian culture through demonstrations, storytelling, live music, dance and artisan crafts.

Backwards Distilling Co. Laramie Tasting Room

In LaramieBackwards Distilling Co. opens a second tasting room location, bringing its circus-themed atmosphere and Wyoming-made spirits to a new space. In central Wyoming, the town of Riverton welcomes the all-new Honey Fly Company — a family-owned fly-fishing outfitter and meadery, combining guiding angling adventures with mead brewed on site, made with 100% Wyoming-sourced honey. Honey Fly's grand opening event is planned for June 20.

 

Construction Beings in Grand Teton National Park

In preparation for Grand Teton National Park's centennial anniversary in 2029, a three-year infrastructure improvement project begins this summer, enhancing roads, trails and visitor facilities throughout the park. Visitors may encounter seasonal construction delays, trail closures and detours in some areas, and are encouraged to plan ahead and check current conditions before visiting. The upgrades are designed to improve long-term access and visitor experiences while preserving the park's iconic landscape.

Celebrate America's 250th Anniversary in Wyoming

Independence Day at Independence Rock (July 4, 2026)

Independence Rock

Celebrate this big American milestone at Independence Rock, a significant landmark along the historic Oregon Trail where thousands of pioneers carved their names into the granite as they ventured west. The event will feature living history reenactments and interactive historical vignettes from 9 a.m. to noon, bringing Wyoming's frontier history to life at this iconic pioneer waypoint.

 

Wyoming's Capital City Celebration (July 4, 2026)

Wyoming State Capitol Live Music America 250

Bring the whole family to Cheyenne for an all-day Fourth of July celebration at the Wyoming Capitol Complex. The America 250th festivities include a patriotic parade, Governor's address, military flyover, live music, cultural performances and a firework finale over the Wyoming State Capitol's golden dome.

 

Trailblazer Days - Opening the Last Frontier (June 12-14, 2026)

Step into Wyoming's frontier past during Trailblazer Days in Thermopolis. The three-day event brings frontier history to life with championship chuckwagon dinners, cowboy poetry and music, hands-on Western heritage experiences, plus a horse- and mule-drawn parade honoring legendary freighter Henry “16-Mule” Johnson. The weekend also highlights the region’s deeper history through guided visits to the Legend Rock petroglyphs and programming featuring Indigenous cultures and the Wind River Tribal Buffalo Initiative.

 

Special Exhibit on the U.S. National Mammal: The Bison (August 22, 2026)

Buffalo Bill Center of the West Exterior Landscape

The Smithsonian-Affiliated Buffalo Bill Center of the West in Cody commemorates America’s semiquincentennial with Buffalo Nation – a major exhibition featuring the cultural, ecological and historical significance of the American bison. With a series of spotlight exhibitions on display since January, an immersive gallery experience opens up on August 22, using art, artifacts, photography and interactive displays to tell the story of America’s national mammal and Wyoming’s state mammal.
