Pull up a stool and get ready to experience Wyoming’s Wild West charm at a local bar. Whether you want to sip on whisky seated on a saddle barstool at Jackson’s iconic Million Dollar Cowboy Bar or enjoy a beer at the historic Mint Bar in downtown Sheridan, you’re sure to find a local watering hole to suit your style. Many of Wyoming’s bars have been around since the 19th century and give you a glimpse of the Old West, while some have tales of the world’s most notorious outlaws. On Buffalo’s historic main street, the Occidental Hotel and Saloon was once frequented by Butch Cassidy and Tom Horn and is known for its notable past. To this day, you may still see bullet holes from past shootouts. As one of Cody’s landmarks, The Irma Hotel’s saloon has a breathtaking cherrywood back bar, a gift from England’s Queen Victoria to the legendary Buffalo Bill (the founder of Cody) for his grand Wild West Show performance in 1900.
