Sheridan
The town of Sheridan, Wyoming has been recognized as a dog-friendly city. This Western town boasts three off-leash dog parks, has numerous dog-friendly trails, and even has bragging rights surrounding pet-friendly restaurants. Your Wyoming travels with that furry companion will be made so much easier if Sheridan is on your road trippin’ list.
Trail Exploration
Found at the foot of the Bighorn Mountains, the Red Grade Trails system is an off-leash experience for Fido and is open year-round. You have your choice of routes here, with almost 14 miles to explore. Start-up or wind down your day at one of Sheridan’s dog parks. Choose from Huntington Bowl, North Park, or Lions Club Park to make sure your pet gets the full experience. Your dog must be on a leash at Sinks Canyon State Park, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t dog friendly. The North Slope Trail in the park is not to be missed. This out-and-back moderate ramble is just over 3 miles and features pockets of thick forest, river access, and majestic views. Lander Dog Park is located at 350 A Baldwin Creek Road. Take your best friend for an unbridled turn within the fenced area of this medium-sized park. A puppy playground that features a separate area for more timid dogs, it is open from sunrise to sunset.

Laramie
A college town, Laramie, Wyoming features some of the state’s best recreational options in its surrounding area. Much of this is Forest Service property and presents bountiful open areas that are dog friendly. Be sure to contact the Laramie Ranger District office to ensure you understand leash laws.
Trail Exploration
The Pilot Hill Recreation Area provides public access to the foothills that surround Laramie. The options in trail length are many, with a total of 32 miles comprising the network.
