Craft Breweries versus Microbreweries

If you’re new to modern brew, you might ask yourself: what is the difference between craft and microbreweries? While both are generally independently owned and smaller than macro breweries (think Budweiser), the answer largely comes down to size.

Craft breweries have a maximum annual output of 2 million gallons (or nearly 65,000 barrels) of beer, whereas a microbrewery is capped at 465,000 gallons (or 15,000 barrels.) As a result, craft breweries have more room to experiment with creative flavors, while microbreweries focus on exceptional ingredients, with both being plentiful in Wyoming.
