Ring Lake Ranch

Discover Ring Lake Ranch – a special place of refreshment and recreation set high in the Wind River Mountains of Wyoming. The beauty of the mountains with their quiet lakes, wildlife, birds and flowers beckons the soul to celebrate creation in quiet and wonder. Features of the Ranch like ancient petroglyphs, a rock labyrinth and an outdoor prayer chapel invite all guests to contemplate the divine presence in a unique setting.

Friendly horses, miles of hiking trails and fish-laden waters offer both the novice and experienced outdoors lover physical challenge as well as relaxation. Guests often see wildlife, including deer, elk, big horn sheep and moose, as they hike, ride and canoe. Bird watching, from our resident osprey family to chickadees, bluebirds and eagles, is a favorite pastime.Stimulating seminars, thoughtful discussions, and informal interaction among guests and distinguished session leaders provide a unique intellectual experience for all who seek a deeper understanding of God and themselves – lay persons as well as educators and ordained clergy. Seminar topics range from exploring the ecology of the environment surrounding the Ranch, to examining spiritual practices and formation, to addressing contemporary issues in Biblical interpretation, to creating songs and art pieces, and much more. Our guest seminar leaders offer 90 minute seminar sessions four evenings each week.Seminars usually run for one week, from Sunday afternoon until the next Saturday morning, but guests are welcome to stay for multiple sessions. Families may enjoy shared activities and also personal time. Children are welcome to attend workshops with parents, but often find their own friends during the week. There is no charge for children 12 and under, while youth 13 to 18 come for a discounted rate. Individual guests can savor the opportunity for solitude as well as participate in group activities. All activities are optional, so guests are free to decide their own needs for either activity or rest. Ranch staff lead guided hikes and horseback rides each morning, sometimes with lunch along the trail.The community, including staff of about 12 and one or two volunteers each week, averages between 35 and 50 each session. Meals are taken together around common tables in the Dining Hall. Everyone helps in doing simple chores – kitchen clean up and tidying our own cabins. Accommodations are comfortable log cabins, many with private baths. All have heated bathrooms with showers. Some bathrooms, separating two sleeping rooms, are shared. All linens are provided.
