Newton Creek Campground
Cody | Black to Yellow
First come, first served, 16-day limit campsites. This is grizzly bear country, practice safe food storage techniques. Elevation is 6,300 feet stretching along the North Fork of the Shoshone River. Privacy between sites is minimal.
To get to the campground from Cody, just travel west on U.S. Highway 14/16/20 for 37 miles. The campground is about 16 miles from the East Entrance of Yellowstone National Park.
This campground hosts 31 sites near the Shoshone River. Nearby points of interest include Mummy Cave and a memorial to firefighters who died in the 1937 Blackwater Fire. There are two trails, one leading to a natural bridge and the other leading to the Firefighters Memorial.
The campground as potable water and vault toilets but is not accessible to persons with mobility impairments; nor is there cell service. There is a 16-day stay limit and the fees are $15/night for single a unit.
NOTE: Hard-side camping only at sites located along Newton Creek from May to mid June. Maximum spur 40 feet.
