Mountain Sports

Mark and Bruce Lamberson arrived in Casper during a huge snowstorm in May of 1973. This boded well for their plans to open a ski shop. Mountain Sports opened its doors in July of that year with a fresh stock of skis, tennis rackets and camping equipment. The business flourished, and in 1981, a new location was added in Flagstaff, Arizona. Several years later, Mark and Bruce split the company to allow each of them to concentrate on their individual locations. (Bruce in Casper and Mark in Flagstaff). Since 1973, Mountain Sports has gone through many changes in product lines and brands the store represents. Many sports that did not exist in 1973 were introduced to Central Wyoming through Mountain Sports, including skateboarding, windsurfing, snowboarding, trail running, and mountain biking. As the business continues to evolve to meet the needs of our clientele, several things have remained constant, including a passion for the sports we represent, an equally strong passion for excellent customer service, and a deep appreciation for the Casper community and the recreational opportunities we enjoy. We thank all of our present and future customers, and look forward to being your “outdoor fun headquarters” for years to come.
