Lower Paintrock Lake Campground - Bighorn National Forest

Greybull | Black to Yellow

Located 15.7 miles northeast of Shell (38.5 W of Dayton), Wyoming, on US Highway 14, then 25.7 miles Southeast on Forest Road 17. (-107.3828 x 44.3956) High clearance, four-wheel drive is recommended for several sections of FR 17. Large RVs and Trailers are not recommended. Elevation is at 9,300 feet, expect cold evenings even in mid-summer. Four sites, spur lengths 40-70'. Restrooms and drinking water are available but no showers, electricity, or phones. Non-motorized boating allowed. Season runs from approximately mid-June through mid-September. No reservations accepted.
