Lewis & Clark River Expeditions

Jackson | Salt to Stone

No trip to Jackson Hole is complete without time spent on the Snake River. A raft trip introduces you the heart of our valley that just isn't acessible any other way. It's great fun and available to everyone from age 3-83.

Most trips take 3-4 hours after checking in to our office just 3 blocks from the Jackson Town Square. Choose between the interactive fun of paddling through whitewater or time spent floating through mountain scenery seaching for wildlife. Our whitewater trips are class III runs where we offer two different boat sizes on every departure. It's a bonafide outdoor experience for everyone. Many Lewis & Clark customers are rafting for the first time, Many others return year after year. The Classic Raft handles bigger water with aplomb and offers the chance for kids as young as 6 and groups and families to raft together. It holds 8-14 people. Our Small Boats are the envy of other guides. With 7 paddling positions (8 total), or Small Boat maximizes the waves of the Snake and offers a bit more thrilling and intimate experience. Either way, you're gonna have fun!

Lewis & Clark was founded in 1971, and owners James Peck and Karen Youngblood have been operating the company since 1994, raising their children here. Both are originally from Wyoming. As a small company, Lewis & Clark emphasizes the kind of personalized service you can get from a small staff that returns year after year.

Certain things set Lewis & Clark apart: Guide experience, free riverside steak dinners, scenic lunch trips, discounted breakfast trips and smallest rafts offered for whitewater are among them. We really enjoy what we do, and every day offers a chance to meet somebody new from someplace comletely different.
