Island Park Campground - Bighorn National Forest

Buffalo | Black to Yellow

Located 20 miles Northeast of Ten Sleep (43.5 W of Buffalo), Wyoming, on U.S. Highway 16, then 3 miles north on Forest Road 27. (-107.2373 x 44.2053. Elevation is 8,600 feet. Expect cold evenings even in mid-summer. 10 camping sites. Spur lengths 35-45 feet. Site #10 is pull-thru. Season runs from approximately June 5 thru Sept. 2. Restroom facilities and drinking water available. No showers, phones, or electricity. Reservations may be made at www.recreation.gov or by calling 877-444-6777. This campground is located on the way to West Tensleep Lake and many trails leading into the Cloud Peak Wilderness. Registration is required at the trailheads to enter the Cloud Peak Wilderness.
