Green River Valley Museum, INC

Big Piney | Salt to Stone

Established in 1990, the Green River Valley Museum is a testament to the rich history of Wyoming in general and Sublette County in particular. As always, admission to the museum is free. We have 7 buildings that you can choose to go through on your own or with a guide. Every object you’ll see in the museum was donated by a local family. We have everything from automobiles to silverware collections that haven’t left the county since they arrived well over 100 years ago. The GRVM is an experience that all visitors should have. It brings one closer to the history of the area that they are in, rather than driving through. As the GRVM is right on the highway in the middle of town, it’s the perfect place to stop on your journey, stretch your legs, and to see what life was like for the average pioneer, Native American, tailor, post-office manager, school teacher, librarian, outlaw, cowboy and more whose stories make the GRVM what it is today. We also hold events throughout the season such as movie nights, special exhibits, guests speakers, classes and more! Be sure to follow the GRVM on the listed social media sites to stay up to date on our schedule!
