7500-foot elevation. 18 campsites around the shores of Cottowood Lake, nestled in the Salt River Mountains. 6 sites have hitching rails, and 3 small corrals for horse campers. 3 sites are walk-in tent sites. A group area is at site 14 in the eastern loop of the campground. It holds 50 people and 2 vehicles with parking for 6 others nearby. A day use area for picnicing is nearby, available for group picnicing for 50 people. This small lake is excellent for canoeing and other small craft boating. There is additional flyfishing in the creeks which drain into Cottonwood Lake. Other activities include mountain biking, horse riding, hunting, and OHV/ATV riding. Numerous hiking,horse riding,biking,and ATV trails are closeby.
