Campbell County School District Planetarium

Gillette | Black to Yellow

The CCSD Planetarium is located in the Sage Valley Jr. High School in Gillette, WY. It is one of the most technologically advanced sights within Wyoming. We feature the first Goto Chronos II Starball to be placed in the U.S. As well as two projectors used to place constellation outlines or pictures, videos, still images, etc. on the dome. Our dome is a nano-seam screen with a diameter of 30 feet on which we can accurately project over 8,000 stars. We pride ourselves in the images we display during our shows. With selection of over 3 million objects that we have the capability to project onto our sky, it would not be amiss to see binoculars in our planetarium in order to view everything. We were built and continue two be funded through the Campbell County School District #1. We are proud to be one of the few planetariums that run free public shows in the world. We at the CCSD Planetarium hope to astound, entertain and educate anyone who comes through our doors.
