Basin Area Chamber of Commerce
Basin | Black to Yellow
Basin, often called "Lilac City of the world", was first called Basin City and got its name from the Big Horn Basin. Surrounded by Big Horn on the east, the Rockies on the West, Owl Creeks on the South and the Pryor Mountains on the north, forming this unique and special place on earth. Basin may be best described as the town of Mayberry with broadband internet access. Free wireless internet is available at the library. In front of the library you can see cannons from the Civil War. The courthouse is an historic landmark. Take a break and enjoy a picnic in beautiful Washington Park. We also have a boat launching site with picnic tables. Basin is also home to the Big Horn County Fair.
