2024 Wyoming Archaeology Fair
Laramie | Rockies to Tetons
Join us for a day of family fun celebrating and learning about archaeology! Meet local archaeologists, ask questions, and find answers. This event is free and open to public and held at the Wyoming Territorial Prison State Historic Site in Laramie, WY on September 7th from 10 am to 3 pm. Join us for all day activities such as atlatl throwing, flint knapping, cordage making, pottery making, blacksmith demonstrations, rabbit hide painting, animal bone identification, and more! There will be all day musical entertainment by local musical group The Twaynes and the infamous Wind River Dancers will be performing from 1 to 2 pm. Vendors include Oompah Fry Bread Tacos and the Soda Pit! In attendance will be Dr. Spencer Pelton, the Wyoming State Archaeologist, who welcomes members of the public tro bring in their artifact collections from their private collections – learn how an expert examines and identifies artifacts!
