Here, the majority of Wyoming’s cutthroat trout eggs are nurtured, along with the care and cultivation of young rainbow, golden, brook and brown trout. These cutthroat trout eggs originate in the Wind River mountains and are raised at the hatchery for eventual release into high mountain lakes throughout the state. Operated by the Wyoming Game & Fish Department since 1922, you can easily find this fish hatchery about five miles southeast of Dubois by following the highway signs.
