Ucross Founder’s Day
June 1, 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
Ucross invites the community to the third annual Ucross Founder’s Day on Saturday, June 1.
From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., meet nine artists in their studios; stroll the beautiful artist residency grounds while serenaded by members of the Wyoming Symphony Orchestra, and enjoy a picnic on the lawn with Pete’s Za slinging pizza by the slice and Ucross Cafe offering coffee, tea, and Chef Jackie’s housemade ice-cream sandwiches.
Then, at 1 p.m., the Ucross Art Gallery will host the opening of “Wyoming Women to Watch,” an exhibition featuring the five artists short-listed for the National Museum of Women in the Arts. All five will give an artist talk, and Sarah Ortegon Highwalking will perform a black-light jingle dress dance.
Parking is limited, and carpooling is encouraged. Tickets are free and open to all: bit.ly/UcrossFoundersDay2024
