Media + PR Summary

Wyoming’s publicity team has been working on highlighting the places, spaces, attractions, destinations and experiences throughout the state. Each month, we calculate reach and editorial value for earned media placements. Below you’ll find an overview of our top media placements, as well as earned media results

Please note that “Top Media Placements” and “Earned Media” include coverage that is a direct result of our public relations program, while “Wyoming in the News” is coverage that cannot be directly tracked back to our program.

Top Media Placements

The total solar eclipse dominated media storylines throughout August and Wyoming’s PR team worked to share the unique experiences the Cowboy State offered around the event and the impact the eclipse had on tourism in Wyoming. This outreach resulted in a Food Network article highlighting Katie’s Cakery, a Riverton pastry shop that offered eclipse-themed treats. In addition, the Wyoming Office of Tourism had such great responses from partners throughout the state regarding our request for eclipse-themed food and drinks that we published an article titled “Wyoming Eclipse Food and Drink” on

Additional media coverage included a piece in Condé Nast Traveler that featured the Grand Tetons and Jackson in its “Labor Day Weekend Getaways 2017” article, recommending the Four Seasons Resort Jackson Hole, Spring Creek Ranch and the Teton Mountain Range.

Budget Travel captured the best moments from this year’s Cheyenne Frontier Days, including multiple photos in an article that named the event “America’s Best Outdoor Rodeo.”
