Ten Sleep Brewing Co. advertises a straightforward motto.

“Good beer for good people.”

It’s a worthy aspiration, and exactly what you feel when you step inside.

But the new in of Ten Sleep Brewing Co. comes from an even simpler premise.

“So my dad (Cole Smith) thought, ‘Hey, I’ve got a barn and people around here need beer.’” Justin Smith, owner of Ten Sleep Brewing Co. said.

And just like that, a brewery was born.

Well, not exactly like that. The elder Smith spent two years researching microbrewing and find investors. Then most of 2013 was spent building the brewery. Finally, it opened Oct. 15 — just in time for hunting season.

“This is an iconic location. The giant, red signal cliff behind us is kind of a beacon,” Justin Smith said.

Justin says the light, drinkable Speed Goat Golden Ale is the most popular request. But visitors will find porter, amber, IPA and seasonal offerings on tap at Ten Sleep Brewing Co. as well.

“We have a brand footprint that’s way outsized from our little barn,” Smith said.

But no matter your taste, at the end of the day, it still all comes down to “Good beer for good people.”

“I think that’s what Wyoming can provide,” Smith said.

“It’s a great place for community, both travelers and locals. I don’t know if you could ask for more.”
