Pine Haven | Black to Yellow

Located 11 miles north off I-90, drive the lake loop from I-90 exit 165 and back to I-90 at exit 153. Nestled among the pine trees on the far western edge of the Black Hills National Forest, Pine Haven got its name as it is tucked in among the pine trees. Pine Haven shares a boundary with the Keyhole Reservoir and the Keyhole State Park. Fishing and boating at the Keyhole Reservoir is enjoyed in the summertime while ice fishing is a favorite wintertime sport. A game of golf can be enjoyed on the 9-hole Keyhole Golf Course. Families enjoy camping in the Pine Haven area as they get away from the hustle and bustle of the coal mining boom activities of our neighbors to the west. Wild turkeys and mule deer wander among the homes of Pine Haven all year long. The Canadian geese join them in summer. Many other birds and water birds also find their homes here during the summer. An occasional mountain lion and bobcat are heard to be wandering in among the trees. Pine Haven hosts a Fourth of July celebration each year with fireworks over the lake enjoyed by hundreds of visitors. It is held on the Saturday nearest to the Independence Day holiday. Pine Haven makes a wonderful stopover on your way to or from Devils Tower National Monument, about 20 miles to the northeast. Being organized as a town in March of 1987, this young town has been one of the fastest growing towns in Wyoming. Pine Haven boasts a new grocery store with gasoline pumps, a bar and grill, an Italian restaurant with lounge, and the Pine Haven Shopping Center with a salon, coffee shop and a non-smoking supper club. An RV park and an RV park with cabins are also available. Fishing supplies and bait can be purchased at our local shops.
