Guernsey State Park 2187 Lakeside Shore Dr. Guernsey, WY 82214 US Tripadvisor Traveler Rating 69 Website (307) 836-2334 Email Get Directions Details Wrapper Description Description Guernsey State Park also has one of Wyoming’s most attractive reservoirs and is known for its excellent boating opportunities and fine collection of historic 1930s Civilian Conservation Corps buildings and recreational facilities. Approaching the park from the east, high bluffs surrounding the park offer the first hint of the mountains to come. The bluffs block the wind from the park area and leave the waters warm and inviting for swimmers and water skiers. The park also offers boating, camping, fishing, hiking, bird-watching and picnicking. Civilian Conservation Corps’ projects in the park include hiking trails, roads, bridges, buildings – including the Castle, Brimmer Point and the Museum – and even a nine-hole golf course that was abandoned in the early 1940s. The park is located near the town of Guernsey, off U.S. 26 Guernsey State Park provides seven campgrounds. Five are around the lake. All campgrounds include comfort stations, picnic tables, fire grills and drinking water. We also have a trailer dump station located at the south entrance to Guernsey State Park. The planning and construction of Guernsey State Park was a first-of-its-kind cooperative venture between the Bureau of Reclamation, the National Park Service, and the Civilian Conservation Corps. This audio tour tells the story behind the creation one of the most significant Depression era parks in the nation.
