The Molesworth House c. 1937 was built by Paul Hindman, Master Craftsman for Thomas Molesworth during the height of the Molesworth Arts & Crafts period, and is the encompassed collection of cowboy design, decor and local western art. Without being present at the time you can still experience the “Art Deco” period of a blended cowboy, western and Native American Indian design at The Molesworth House. Paul Hindman and his brother grew up in the main house next door. They built The Molesworth House entirely of local Douglas Fir, Ponderosa Pine, Chugwater “Red” Sandstone and Shoshone River Rock. With original tongue & groove wood walls and floors throughout, the “cabin” feeling is firmly established and very unique for a Cody downtown home. Custom Molesworth embellishments such as window cornices with silhouetted cowboy, buffalo, wildlife reliefs, built in bookcases, shed Elk chandeliers, lamps and a large sandstone fireplace make this home like no other.
