Ernest Hemingway spent much of his life inspired by Wyoming. He used interactions with Sheridan residents for his short story “Wine of Wyoming,” and he completed his novel A Farewell to Arms at the Spear Family Ranch. The Wyoming chapter continued as Hemingway married Martha at the Union Pacific Railroad depot in Cheyenne.
