The Festival Orchestra steps into the limelight with a program of symphonic showpieces. One of Haydn’s fetching London Symphonies shares the first half with Anton Webern’s atmospheric hymn to the natural world. Then Maestro Runnicles leads a performance of “A Hero’s Life,” featuring Concertmaster Madeline Adkins and others, proof that orchestra members are soloists in their own right.
